Insect screen systems are a discreet yet highly effective way to protect interiors from insects without giving up natural ventilation and daylight. In modern construction, insect screens act as a practical filter: they stop mosquitoes, flies and plant pollen while not limiting visibility or airflow. Our range includes W-PLS pleated insect screens, sliding systems for large terrace glazing, framed door and window variants, as well as functional roller systems. Every product is made to measure using powder-coated aluminium profiles and high-quality meshes made of fibreglass, polyester or technical pet-screen fabric.
W-PLS pleated insect screens – compact comfort in a premium version
W-PLS are pleated insect screens with an accordion-style structure that fold into a narrow strip and take up almost no space by the frame. The mechanism based on top and bottom guides ensures light, smooth sash movement, and the low threshold improves comfort of passage – especially important in high-traffic areas used by household members and guests. The W-PLS system can operate horizontally or vertically, making it suitable for patio doors, balcony exits, winter gardens and sliding enclosures. The pleated fabric retains its shape, is resistant to weather conditions and easy to clean, while the cassette and guides made of powder-coated aluminium guarantee durability for many years.
Sliding insect screens – the natural choice for large glazing
For wide sliding openings, sliding insect screens on guides work best, with sashes moving parallel in the plane of the window or door. This solution is compatible with terrace and balcony enclosures as well as frameless systems. Quiet rollers, rigid frames and carefully designed seals make daily intensive use possible without the risk of jamming. In addition, profiles can be colour-matched to the joinery and glazing so that the whole set forms a coherent, aesthetically pleasing composition.
Framed door and window insect screens – simple and effective
For standard windows and classic balcony doors, we recommend framed insect screens. This is an economical solution, quick to install and extremely stable. Powder-coated aluminium frames are resistant to corrosion and UV radiation, and the fine-mesh fibreglass screen provides an effective barrier against insects and some allergens. Self-closing hinges and magnets make everyday use easier, while the mesh density is selected so as not to limit airflow or the view to the outside.
Roller insect screens – discreet protection when you need it
Roller systems combine user comfort with minimal interference in the architecture of the opening. Depending on the design, the mesh rolls up into a cassette at the top of the window (vertical roller) or into a vertical cassette at the door edge (horizontal roller). A spring or chain mechanism provides precise positioning, and brakes and brushes reduce wind gusts and the formation of gaps. This solution is particularly recommended in interiors where simplicity and maximum transparency are important, especially when the insect screen is not needed all day long.
Materials and colours – visible durability
All systems are based on powder-coated aluminium profiles. The powder coating provides increased resistance to scratching and weather conditions and at the same time allows perfect colour matching to windows, doors, façades or terrace enclosures. The offer includes popular RAL colours as well as textured and wood-effect variants. Meshes are made of PVC-coated fibreglass, high-permeability polyester, and in a pet-screen version that withstands contact with pets’ claws. On request, we can use fabrics with increased transparency (better visibility) or anti-allergic properties.
Dimensions, adjustment and integration with glazed systems
Each insect screen is produced to measure according to the opening parameters and the way it will be used. For large terrace glazing we recommend sliding constructions or W-PLS pleated systems; for standard windows, framed and roller screens work best. In buildings with sliding glass enclosures we install insect screens in a parallel arrangement so that the movement of the mesh does not collide with the movement of glass sashes. Low guides and carefully designed technical plastic details ensure quiet operation, while brushes and seals reduce minor gaps at the floor and frame contact points.
User comfort and easy maintenance
We design our insect screen systems for everyday use. Smooth sliding, ergonomic handles and intuitive locking mechanisms mean that opening and closing requires minimal effort. Cleaning involves gentle vacuuming or wiping with a damp cloth; if needed, the mesh alone can be replaced without interfering with the frame. For roller and pleated systems we provide periodic servicing of mechanisms and tension checks, which extends their service life and maintains smooth operation over many seasons.
Benefits of choosing insect screen systems
The key benefits are a constant supply of fresh air without the risk of insect intrusion, higher comfort of rest and work, reduced need for chemical repellents, and aesthetic advantages – slim profiles and neutral fabrics do not dominate the interior. Combined with terrace enclosures, insect screens make it possible to create a pleasant relaxation zone, even with the lights on in the evening. An additional advantage is the possibility of installation in commercial buildings – cafés, restaurants or offices – where hygiene, airflow and guest comfort are crucial.
